How do I add an FTP account? Print

You can add multiple FTP accounts for your web hosting. You can control which folder the FTP account has access to and their quota.

To create an FTP account follow the steps below.

1. Login to your web hosting control panel. If you are not sure how to do this, please refer to our article: How to login to control panel.
2. Under “Files” box click on “FTP Accounts” button.
   
3. On top of the page you will see the form to create a new FTP account.
   
4. Enter the Login name you wish the user to have.
5. Enter the password and then re-type it again in the field below.
6. The strength indicator will show you how secure your password is. If you like, you can also use Password Generator which will automatically generate a strong password for you.
7. If you would like the user to only have access to a specific folder, enter the folder name in the “Directory” field followed by a trailing slash. (ex: Folder name “sharkol” would be typed in as “sharkol/”.)
8. If you would like to limit the users transfer quota, then enter it under the "Quota" field.
9. When you are done, click on the “Create FTP Account” button.
